Love the intro...

It was great to see the outcome of the villains first defeat from the point of view of said villains, they were cold and cruel, but not entirely without humanity (Kubalai not withstanding).

Funny thing when we we first starting seeing Maciste he was the son of Samson matter of fact in the film "Son of Samson" he was played by Mark.
There used to be a show on local stations "Sons of Hercules" where they would show one of these films in two one hr parts and in one of those films he was called Maciste. One more item how come we've never seen a film about ATLAS?
Oh that Michale Forest film doesn't count as he wasn't Atlas. They just used the name so folks would go see the feature.

I kept expecting an explanation as to Hercules' presence in 12th Century Poland. Something along the lines of, he's the son of Zeus, he's immortal, etc. And the Poles seemed to take a guy dressed in Greek garb walking about Poland as totally matter of fact.

Unfortunately, such an explanation was never provided. Probably because the character is originally Maciste and Hercules is an add in? But even if Maciste, his adventures were typically centuries earlier in time.

I suppose a giant constrictor and crocodile being present in, or near, Poland, would be enough to inform the viewer that 'explanations' would be few and far between. lol
