The Original Cast of 'Family Affairs'

They had all pretty much buggered off well before the end. And to be honest some of them were pretty boring.

Roy was the last to leave when he died in the Cybercafe fire in 2003.

FA started as it meant to go on - Sally was killed off two weeks in to the show! Tim Webster was the next to leave in February 1998. Duncan left in the summer of 98 but returned for a short stint in 2000. Elsa was killed by Jack in December 1998, and Jack committed suicide a week later.

In January 1999 the boat explosion killed off Chris, Annie, Holly, Melanie, Jamie and Angus, and Nick and Liam left later on that same year. Maria Simons then departed in 2000

Claire Toomey originally left in 1999 but returned a year later. She spent a further three years on the show until her departure in the summer of 2003 - and finally, after just six years, Family Affairs lost their last remaining original character when Roy Farmer was killed off in November 2003.

Having arrived in June 1997, Pete Callan was then the longest-serving until his death in September 2005. For the show's final three months, the longest-serving cast member was Nicola Duffett, who had played Cat Matthews since December 1998.
