Did the killer have a motive?

Does anyone know?

After watching the commentary i have found out that the killer is meant to be a madman. apparantly there have been accounts of heaps of people that flip out in society and end up living in the wild. this guy just happened to be a maniac murderer too.

im looking forward to viewing the film with the other commentary which features a member from cky.

He didn't seem to have a motive, but for some reason, he was wearing a couple necklaces across his face. What a bizarre touch.

And with that last shot of the little girl playing with the ax, are we to assume that she was his daughter or that this was some deranged clan? Maybe they were setting this up for a sequel. Oh the horror!

That girl seemed to be the child of one of the victims. The painter I think.

No, the killer didn't have a motive, just like the movie didn't even bother to put any sort of effort into developing his victims, two reasons as to why this horror movie was so unsuccessful.

Unsuccessful? Since when do you need a motive for a good slasher movie? All you you need is a lot of victims and lots of gore. The only negative to this film was no nudity, although considering the women in this one, that's probably a good thing.

What serial killer has a motive anyway? They kill at random. That's why I always got annoyed when I watched slasher films "They just kill for no reason!"

Serial Killers kill for no reason...no reason to kill is a good reason but serial killers don't have any reason other than to just satisfy some sort of sick needs or pleasure, for the most part. Some of the patterns serial killers have are a reflection of their childhood, but for many there isn't a reason.
