am i the only one???

I was just wondering if I am the only person that cries buckets throughout this film? When sir and little miss die, when andrew tells rupert about what "everyone" says about sex, when andrew dies just moments before hearing that he is officially human... gah this film just makes a wreck outta me! no matter how many times i watch it, it still gets me every time!

You most certainly are not!! To this day, I can't sit through the end of this movie without tears falling. When Portia says, "See you soon," and then she dies...well, I'm just a wreck.

you are certainly not the only one. this is the only movie that i can watch again and again and each time it makes me cry a lot, laugh a lot and think a lot...

reply

I thought it was very sad, especially watching the siblings getting old and going through the generations of the family

I just popped in the DVD, it's hardly started and I'm already feeling my tear ducts getting ready... (I lose it at the end of "The Electric Grandmother" too. Just a sucker for sentimental robot stories, I guess.)

am i the only one that gets annoyed that people post spoilers without warnings in the title when they make a new thread?

What if someone hasn't seen the movie yet?

No, it's not just you - people who post spoilers are annoying.

...although in some cases - like this, it doesn't matter so much.
It's 9 years old by now for crying out loud. People can't expect to be able to avoid spoilers forever. Then, they should have seen the movie earlier.
..I know, it's not always that black and white though.

But 'yeah', it's annoying. ;)

I find it more annoying that people complain about spoilers for a film made 16 years ago. I find it annoying when people can't have a conversation without the spoiler police ruining it.

Why read message board if you don't want to know about film?

Some people miss parts of film or want to know what it's about before they watch, so message boards are only place they can find out.

reply

Damn impossible to fight back the tears. Left me all chocked up like never before, what a wonderful find this film was.

um he dindt have a soul so they will not see each ther soon

What makes you so sure he didn't have a soul? Who died and made you God?!

No, you're not the only one. I just watched this movie for the third time, I think. I also have four or five scenes where I can't help crying. Ofcourse the scenes where sir, little miss and Andrew himself die. But I also the scene where Andrew gets his freedom from sir, and is told to leave. And both scenes where he is standing before the court, trying to be declared human.

Great movie! But then again, Isaac Asimov is a great writer and ofcourse Robin Williams was perfectly cast for this role.
