Sergeant Preston of the Yukon Currently Being Shown on MeTV

Sergeant Preston is currently being shown on MeTV. These great color episodes are seen on Saturday mornings. Two shows run back-to-back at 7 AM and 730 AM Central Time. It is a little confusing because the on-screen programming guide lists Green Screen Adventures in these time slots.

Here is the Saturday Morning lineup on MeTV: (Central Time)

Sergeant Preston - 7 AM
Sergeant Preston - 730 AM
Roy Rogers - 8 AM
Roy Rogers - 830 AM
The Lone Ranger - 9 AM
The Lone Ranger - 930 AM
The Rebel - 10 AM
The Rebel - 1030 AM
Wagon Train - 11 AM

The on-screen guide is only accurate from The Rebel on. The previous shows have other programming listed in their slots, but that is what is on. I am watching the second Sergeant Preston episode right now.

I watched the two episodes shown this morning with some delight. It brought back fond memories of watching this show as a kid. It was just as I'd remembered. Good guys vs bad guys, bad guys lose, triumph of justice, the end! Great stuff!

I just found Sargent Preston on YouTube. It appears that all episodes of season 1 are available.

These were great. However, these shows aren't being shown anymore, just the Green Screen Adventures and other late sixties, early seventies children's shows of such ilk that tried tried to be hip and relevant.

I was fortunate to catch some Sgt Preston eps in the middle of the night on MeTV, alongside Lassie. But they switched the programming. Actually it might have been GritTV which disappeared completely, replaced by Comet, I believe. The Yukon shows were very corny but in a fun way, while Lassie was rather touching. I miss them.

Indeed.
