soujiro seta is my favourite character,and surely one of the strongest foes kenshin encounters.I am not sure if kenshin would have won if soujiro fought at full strength,but we'll never know.

I dont have to think about it... Hiko Seijuro is the strongest character in the whole series. Kenshin is second. Everyone is is up for debate.

I would say Shishio is insanely strong. We can agree the Hiko Seijuro is stronger then kenshin. He has more experience and he has less doubts so he can wield his blade with more conviction. He only lost to kenshin because of the secret amakakeru ryu no hirameki. If it was blow for blow most would agree Hiko Seijuro is stronger. The reason i think Shishio is stronger is because he survives the amakakeru ryu no hirameki. He just gets right back up even when his with the ultimate second strike whereas Hiko practically dies from it even though the staying pin almost came out. Add the fact that Shishio can't fight for more then 15 mins and you have to agree that without handicap Shishio would be the strongest.

shareHiko is undoubtedly the strongest, but after Kenshin gains the will to live, he gains power equal to Hiko's. The Amakakeru's just the icing on the cake. All of Kenshin's moves are stronger, as we see when he does that Ryu Tsui Sen against Aoshi in the library. It's ten times more potent than before. However briefly, Kenshin gains the true strength of a Hiten Mitsurugi master.
As for the others, it's a toss-up between Saitou, Sojirou and Aoshi, all of whom gave Kenshin a run for his money when they fought.

Hiko without a doubt, like he said vs kenshin. His strength and speed are inferior vs his so he'll never win with the same move vs him. And cause Hiko knows all the moves kenshin has theire is no way he could beat him cause Kenshin even finished his training way to early.
Hiko prolly finishes battousai even off without having any problems. Btw in all honosty, shishio kind off sux. I wasn't even impressed half to see him take a stand vs people that all just had battles of live and death. Kenshin even had two so I wasn't impressed at all. And cause he was fighting a kenshin on 20% power or 10% power?? less mb? And that was Rurouni not Battousai it made me even feel more sorry for Shishio and his rant of the strongest cause he didn't even care a sec bout playing it fair. Wanting to exam Kenshin moves / taking the advice of soujiro / letting him come after two serious battles.
Battousai would have finished him off rather quickly. So my call is Battousai vs Hiko but the advantage is just @ Hiko with his experience / strength. Battousai needs a stroke of pure geniouseness to beat him but even then Hiko prolly wouldn't fall for it and just overpower him. Just think @ the waterfall. He gives kenshin one last chance to injury him or he wouldn't give him the lesson. Kenshin has to go all out without even thinking of his own health and only injures his hand. If that's the best Kenshin could do then theire has to be one hell of a huge gap between them.
One thing is obvious to me to, Battousai >>>>>> rurouni. Just worrying bout your enemy safety allways brings disadvantage. If he cuts him once as battousai it's over and as rurouni he has to emotionally wear them down or beat them to pulp. So troublesome at times.

hiko soujiiro. he is kenshins master, and probably stronger than him. then i would say either saito or kenshin....maybe saito, coz he just pwns everyone!!
sharebattousai the man slayer has to be the strongest. The fact that Kenshin won all those fights with a reverse edged sword makes me think that if he had been battousai, i.e with the killer sword, he would have dispatched them with relative ease.

Makoto Shishio is the strongest, if not for Shishio toying around with Kenshin, Saito and Aoshi. He could have defeated them easily.
