English Redub?

I have the original DVDs before even the box sets came out with the original english dub.

I tried rewatching on hulu but noticed the voices are completely different, and they even call him Kenji rather than Kenshin.

Why? What was the point of this? The dub was already...dubbed. Even if it changed distributors or whatever, what why redub it?

This honestly is not the original dub, there was a different dub that aired on Animax Asia under the title Samurai X and had different voice actors. Richard Canisino did vice Kenshin in this one though too.
