what makes Battousai better?

my question is: what makes battousai better than Kenshin the wanderer apart from the use of different swords. Kenshin seem to be a better samurai when he was a the man slayer, why was that? Whats your opinion about this

Well, I think the series say it very clearly. The killing intent always makes a warrior stronger. Aoshi was stronger when he was willing to kill his own teammate (Okina), Saito never doubted to kill his enemy, Soujiro was stronger when his mind was really set on killing, etc.
