Two Different Themes?

My copies of the 8 episodes, recorded off-air in Ireland back when the show was new, have two different themes. One is used on episode one and episode three only.

I've just been made aware, on twitter, that the show did not air this way in the US. Over there it had one theme for all 8 episodes.

Anyone have any idea why versions sold overseas were different edits?
