Screwing the Fans

First, the morons at Fox cancel this fine show without ever giving it a chance to find it's viewing audience despite the money they sunk into making it. Harsh Realm's production quality is on par with the X-Files and other well made TV shows. If I'd invested that much money into it, I sure would have given it a better chance of success than Fox did.

Now they have released the series on DVD without any of the loose ends being tied up. If they were going to put it on DVD, then why not at least make a couple (or how ever many necessary) episodes to finish the story? Who wants to buy a DVD set of a story that has no ending? It's like ending the show 24 at hour 1600.

This DVD release just goes to prove that the TV executives at Fox care nothing about the fans of any show; they just continually look for ways to financially exploit us. Hey Fox, we'd love to buy this set but why don't you throw us a bone and let Chris Carter finish it?

You greedy leeches.

Unfortunately, I think the lead guy went to prison for kiddie fiddling, not really who you want to headline your direct-to-DVD TV movies.

Didn't the X-Files have bad viewers its first season too? Before it became a runaway cult hit. Heck, this didn't even get to struggle through its first season.

I'm sure the reviews were good, but many great shows have gone down the pan because of not enough viewers. But perhaps the X Files was a runaway hit from the word go, it was a long time ago.

I agree but look at Firefly sales. That one has no conclusion. Even with the movie. And it profits them nothing to pay a bunch of actors and producers and writers etc to make more episodes just for a straight to DVD series. I agree Fox does do a lot of crappy decision making like that however for this one I'm pretty sure they pulled it because of the Harsh Realm comic book series lawsuit against them around the time it came out. Anyway, Chris Carter got just as screwed as we fans did.
