I'm surprised that they didn't tie up the loose ends in an "X-Files" episode like they did with the other two canceled Ten Thirteen shows. The final season of "Millennium" aired during the sixth "X-Files" season and they produced the episode "Millennium" in Season 7. "The Lone Gunmen" aired during the eighth "X-Files" season and "Jump The Shark" aired during Season 9. You would think that there would have been an episode produced in Season 8 of "The X-Files" explaining what happened with "Harsh Realm" but they didn't do it for some reason. The only reason I can think of is that "Harsh Realm" hadn't established a continuity with "The X-Files" during it's entire 9-episode run. There are a few instances in "Millennium" that suggested that it shared the same universe as "The X-Files" before the "Millennium" episode, the most notable one being the appearance of "X-Files" character Jose Chung in a "Millennium" episode, and "The Lone Gunmen" is an "X-Files" spinoff, but nowhere in the 9 episodes of "Harsh Realm" do you hear a reference to any of the other Ten Thirteen shows, at least not in terms of sharing the same universe. They could have easily had Mulder and Scully investigating the disappearance of Hobbes, or had the Lone Gunmen hacking into the Harsh Realm. It would have been easy to tie up the loose ends in one of their other shows and I think if "Harsh Realm" had lasted longer, they would have tied it in just for the fun of it.

Good point i never thought of that i think your suggestion of the lone gunmen hacking into the Harsh Realm programme sounds like a very good idea just a shame it was never realised and given the fans no matter how little they are a conclusion to the underrated series.

heres a thought...what if during the 13 lone gunmen episodes they had actually tied up the plot from harsh realm?

I often wonder why this does not happen more, and then I think there must be other reasons for things getting canned. Like I thought Whedon must have really upset someone important to get all the shows closed down when he did.
At least they did a pretender film (or 2) but IMHO it did nothing to sort out the ending of the series in the slightest, that was what I thought they did them for, or do they think we just want to be left without a clue ?
The same with farscape but I had been so pee'd off with the stupid round up of the last series I gave up on it and did so on quite a lot of new stuff.

I doubt it. There is hardly a large enough fan base to justify a TV Movie.
