Did they retire the mayor character?

I don't keep up with the current show but I was wondering how they handled the death of Adam West.

Since the death of actor Adam West, the character does appear to have been retired & replaced by Sam Elliot as the new mayor. I think he has only made a couple of appearances so far though.
