I remember..

Watching this when it came out (when I was 10) and it was pretty badass, just watched it again and it's still pretty good. I tried watching Hornblower again but it was kinda not so great. You all needed to know this.

No...what they all need to know is that only a nincompoop would declare Hornblower "not so great". It was and still is, at £3m per episode, the most expensive period drama ever made for British TV. They actually had a working frigate ship built from scratch just for the Hornblower series, and it picks up rave reviews everywhere (unlike Scarlet Pimpernel which, while being very good, fairs pretty mediocre in reviews). Like Sharpe, Hornblower is one of the finest examples of historic TV drama ever created.

That is what they all needed to know!
