sharethis wasnt meant to be funny at all, all of turkeys old movies are laughable but if you live in turkey ppl just seem to get used to them and dont find them humourous at all, when i went to turkey this year to visit relatives we were watching some film from the 80s and it was full of terrible acting and hilarious music which was played over and over throughout the whole film, i was laughing but everyone around me didnt find it funny at all.
shareEveryone knows those movies are BAD but they don't laugh because they are used to bad acting, bad plots, bad music, bad directing, bad EVERYTHING. I don't think much people in Turkey watches those movies seriously. Personally, I have a great time & lots of laughs when I watch Cuneyt Arkin's action movies, especially the ones from 80s. They are amazingly stupid but this is their charm. ;)
shareThis is exactly what you must seek in this kind of movies. This movie was intended to be a real sci fi, but due to the nonexistent budget, it ended as it is. This was the general problem of the Turkish cinema at the 80s though.
So watch this film and enjoy, plus many people can learn from this movie since the movie itself can be done again with a handycam and 3000 dollars in cash anytime you feel like it =)

This is a horrible movie also for the people of Turkiye who loves cinema art.
it was seriously made(if cheating and stealing from the other movies are serious) but reacted by the people who watchs it as a comedy.
One of the most important university's of Turkiye cinema fest always do the opening ceremony with that movie maybe to give the message of 'whatever u watch here,cant be worse than this!!!'
On the other hand,starring of DKA,Cuneyt Arkin is a person who deserves a piece of respect not only because of he acted over 200 of movies as a starring which probably a record on the world and Many of the movies he acted was prepared around in a month of time but also He's one of the cinema labourer who became disabled of one hand because of a movie scene accident.
And also when you're critizing that movie and for example costumes of it, please don't forget all movie costed about one costume cost of Star Wars...In Turkiye's those economical crises period that was something necessary when u produce a movie.
We still watch this movie yet sometimes to have fun but most of the time can't all of it coz after a minute u wanna go to toilet and vomit there...
Well I am not sure they meant funny or serious but cuneyt arkin always states that they meant funny. It could be either way during 70's and 80's most of the turkish films were bad most of the film makers made really corny and hilarously bad movies. however, they also made some good ones espically comedy films they were really good and famous stage actors starred in those pieces. even today many people watch them and enjoy them. also they made interesting movies which inspired other film makers from diffrent countries. basically these kind of films were bad in technical way but they had very interesting and striking story and plot and some foreign filmmakers barrowed their stories and used them in their works. for example john woo's "a better tommorrow" inspired and barrowed by turkish cop movie called "in the name of law". obviously john woo's film is much better but the story strictly barrowed from turkish movie..... in addition, john woo, often used same kind of gun fight scenes from old cuneyt arkin movies

I laughed ALOT during the movie and the entire plot is so stupid and incohesive that you never know at all whats going on.
The trampoline effects ROCK and the Indiana Jones music is so fantasticly random you can't help but be amazed.
well its certain that DKA was meant to be a serious movie at the beginning. But than when the crew shoot some scenes they understood that can do nothing else but make the movie interesting by making it funny. The entire screenplay was written by Cuneyt Arkin so he put everything that he can imagine at the time and went on shooting. because of economic situations, actors made their own costumes and almost half of the scenes and all musics were stolen from other movies. but in such awful conditions one of the most interesting and funny charcters of cinema industry was created. the evil character of the movie Magician (sihirbaz) makes the movie wathcable himself. One note about him is he lives in a place where there is no time scale and he says he is 1000 years old (exactly 1000 not 999 or 1001). i dont know what people think about this quote but i would tell you its definitely a joke which most people find funny. he is also suffering for 1000 years because of reasons we would never know. he is repeating histericly that he wants the world than he says he wants to destroy the world and he wants to get one human brain and when he gets one he finds it useless and wants the main characters brain and so on. he repeats many times in the movie that he is immortal and after that he dies. his mask and people behind him are another stories. there are lots of examples of intended jokes and funny scenes put in film as well. so i think it makes no sense to say whole DKA was made seriously...

They can say all they want now like "we actually did this for fun and meant it to be funny" yeah sure.. Knowing Cuneyt Arkin and how laughably he is full of himself I dont even take this discussion seriously. The guy also claims he has a black belt in Karate.. I really has no sympathy whatsoever for the ones responsible for this embrassing elementary school effort in filmmaking and dont even get me started with budget restraints.. If you dont have the funds then dont shoot a sci-fi especially when you cant even think of a decent plot with at least one line of dialogue that makes sense. It was nothing but greed and the prospect of makin some profit from the Star wars mania in the 80s so they should really be ashamed to death instead of makin phony excuses for this ubertrash.To a non-Turk it may be a fun 1.5 hours laughing at the absurdities and stupidness but for me it is nothing but a reminder how some leeches sucked the blood of the Turkish people for so many years. They will take their rightful place in the history as absolute JOKES. because thats what they are nothing more.
