WhoTF puts acid in cups of beer??

I can't imagine that anyone who has ever done LSD would think that putting it in cups of beer is something anyone would ever do. For one thing, it needs to be absorbed through the mucous membranes in the mouth so drinking it (which would have it broken down by stomach acid before being metabolized) would be a waste. Even if it wasn't a waste, it is the kind of drug you really need to does carefully. By the time it starts to kick in 30-45 minutes after taking, you don't want to realize you've taken (drank in this case) four times too much.

Was the point of that scene that they were just dumb kids who didn't know how to take the drugs the had scored?
