John's age

I actually like this film but he's supposed to be 18 here.

Born 1985 and 10 on t2 based on the data on him from the cop's computer. So how could he have been 13 when his foster parents died?

reply

they retconned his age.

Because saying that a kid who is clearly 13, is 10, is stupid. A 3 year age difference is huge during the years before adulthood. A 4-year-old can't pass for a 1-year-old; a 7-year-old can't pass for a 4-year-old; a 10-year-old can't pass for a 7-year-old; a 13-year-old can't pass for a 10-year-old, and a 16-year-old can't pass for a 13-year-old (there are obviously some exceptions but for the most part that's all true). After about that point, there's a lot more leeway because after puberty people don't change so rapidly as they age.

But that's after the fact in t3 Bec he clearly played 10 in t2 as I exemplified above. T3 John could've played 18, Stahl played the same age in Carnivale and is even younger than Furlong.

"But that's after the fact in t3 Bec he clearly played 10 in t2 as I exemplified above."

I know that Furlong's character was said to be 10 years old in T2, and I'm saying that was stupid, because Furlong was obviously a few years older than 10. When it was said in T3 that the events of T2 happened when he was 13, that was a retcon, and a rare case of a retcon that I approve of.

It doesn't matter if it was stupid in t2, were talking about t3 and t2 is done and over with.

Anyway it doesn't matter, Bec t3 is done and over with as well as the franchise.

"and a 16-year-old can't pass for a 13-year-old (there are obviously some exceptions but for the most part that's all true). "

My friend (22) used to date that girl (13) and she looked 16-17 man. She wasn't straight forward about her age so he was convinced that she was 18. So, I call total bullshit on that.

You posted one alleged exception after I already posted "there are obviously some exceptions but for the most part that's all true," and based on your one alleged exception that I already more than allowed for, you "call total bullshit on that"? LOL at that.

Of the examples I listed, "a 16-year-old can't pass for a 13-year-old" is where nearly all of the exceptions will be found, and of those exception, nearly all of them will be female, since they typically go through puberty earlier than males do.

Also, he is talking about a 13 year old passing for a 17 year old.
Whereas you are talking about an older person passing off as a younger person. As you say, for the most part (there are odd exceptions) they can't.

reply

He'd be 19 since T3 takes place in 2004. That said, it's a goof I just overlook. They obviously went with Furlong's actual age when that line was written.

reply

Whats missing from this equation is how long is T3 set after T2 - thats where they should adjust the script to suit

reply

T2 takes place in 1995. T3 takes place in 2004.

I feel they should have pushed both movies ahead a few years. T2 to accommodate for Furlong's actual age and T3 for Stahl's....
