I didn't hate this one like I thought I did.

I recently re-watched it (this week) because of a podcast (We Hate Movies) and I kind of enjoyed it.

Arnold as the Terminator and an insane $200 million budget for the time......it couldn't be ALL bad.

I was 15 when it came out and it was the first Terminator movie I got to see in the theaters so I got wrapped up in all the buzz (believe it or not, the reviews were pretty kind to it). And I liked it, I saw it twice in the theaters (I already loved the first two films).

12 years later, I still don't think it's a bad film - there's some great action sequences and a few genuinely funny parts involving Schwarzenegger, who we all love in this role.

Its biggest flaw is that it's such a rehash of the previous films and adds very little to the series story-wise. It made it very easy for 'Genisys' to simply ignore it. It's also an R-rated film that feels PG-13.

Critics are being hard on 'Genisys', but it's my favorite Terminator sequel since after T2. It at least adds a couple new elements to the story. Schwarzenneger is excellent.

T3 doesn't really add anything new to the mythos, but I still enjoy it.

You think Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is a cute and entertaining movie, you're clearly a fvcking moron.

Well, it's definitely not the level of T1, but I like it a lot better than T2. I think a lot of the stuff in T3 works. Arnie's one liners work and he actually feels more robotic here than he did in T2. Also, in addition to Arnie, I really liked the main actors in this Stahl, Danes, and Loken. Stahl and Danes both give believable performances, unlike the terrible acting by both Hamilton and the kid from T2, whose awful performances detract from that movie considerably. And I don't see what made Robert Patrick in T2 any better than Loken here, honestly. Arnie still gave the best evil Terminator performance in T1, but Loken is very effective here.

i thought Danes was out of her element here. There's not enough character for her to use her acting chops and doesn't seem like an action movie type.
