I can't believe how bad this movie is!

I know there are bad movies but this movie is quite possibly the worst. About five minutes of it is original. Almost every flight scene is taken from another movie. The most obvious is "Flight of the Intruder" but there are many others including "Iron Eagle". Even the original scenes are abysmal. The cockpits are huge unlike the planes they are supposedly flying. I am as forgiving as the next guy but come on. This is sad. This is worse than a student film. I don't usually bash movies but after watching this i couldn't resist. Do they even credit the originals? If I were writing a paper I would have cite so many movies and writers. This would border on plagiarism. I can't believe I spent this time on this movie. I even like the actors in this movie. Were they desperate? Was rent due? This is not even BETA worthy.

Hahahahaha since when does the Navy have the rank of colonel? Mitchell is a Naval officer but is called Colonel and is shown wearing a Navy uniform...Pathetic..And since when does the Navy fly F-117's?

reply

And let's not forget these gafs:

Mitchell's superior on the ship chewing him out wore the gold oak leafs of a Lt Commander. When we see him next, he is a Vice Admiral.

In the same scene, they salute each other while uncovered and indoors. The Navy does not do that. The Navy never salutes indoors, nor while uncovered (sans hat).

And one last comment: Whoever told Ice T he could act must have been smoking doobies, drinking heavily and snorting cocaine all at the same time, cuz that dog don't hunt.

reply

the funny thing about all these inaccuracies, Ice T is supposed to be an ex army ranger, okay, so maybe he doesnt know a few things like the salute issues in the navy, but he should at LEAST know Navel ranks

reply

Well, if it was on a ship that's different. People salute all the time inside ships, especially to the Captain. But I haven't seen this movie, I'm sure they only accidently got one or two things right if that. Ohh I want to see it now. Bad films remind us mediocre isn't the worst you can do.

that movie was like a massive train wreck and tsunami rolled into one. i could not change the channel. i knew better, but i just couldn't do it. and i'll never get that time back. so painfully bad.

Was this movie released in theaters? Or did it go straight to TBS?
What was the budget?

If I paid full ticket price to see this in the movies I would start a class action lawsuit for plagiarism, wasted time, wasted money, and the fact that the production company would roll out this piece of garbage with a straight face.

Anyone involved in this thing should be embarrassed…and have to eat cat poop.

P.S. I heard Steven Segal turned down a part in this movie.
Alternate title "Hot Shots Part3 - We take ourselves seriously"

Ice-T can, if not act, at least be convincing enough. that was when he worked with ernest Dickerson, who must be good on actor's direction. Unfortunately he seemed to have gone for the fast-bucks option. Too bad, when you consider how many so-so, or downright bad, actors have or had a career (No-one in his right mind ever said Steven seagal could bloody ACT, right ?)

"The cockpits are huge unlike the planes they are supposedly flying."

I was on a trip with my NJROTC unit to NAS Whiting Field, and this movie came on TV in one of the lounges. Our commander was a B/N on an A-6 in Gulf War I, and he was pointing out inaccuarcy after inaccuracy, including the door in the rear of the A-6's cockpit. It made the movie somewaht amusing.

I love the stolen flight scenes from Iron Eagle and flight of the intruder.

My favorite part is when they are in the Cessna and he doesn't bother to latch the door or put a seatbelt on himself or his daughter while doing aerobatics.
