help with lawrence ferlinghetti quote

Does anybody know the two missing parts of this quote? I can't quite catch the words he's saying in the documentary.
And does anybody know what book or poem it's from?

"There once was a place, perhaps, where all was light. Which once, praytell, some non-manmade god ...? And so, tra-la tra-la, its ... again my dears, and the music of the spheres, some kind of mad man laughter."

And so tra-la tra-la
