Colerige quote

Whas the quote on the blackboard in Crawford's class written by Colerige the author or Colerige the student? I couldn't tell if John Colerige the student really didn't know who wrote it or didn't want to say who wrote it because he plaigerized the quote in his essay?

Did Jamal tell John to "just say your name man" because he knew John Colerige had plaigerized it or because he new the quote was written by Colerige the famous author? Any help?

The quote is from the author Samuel Taylor Coleridge (21 October 1772 – 25 July 1834). His most famous poem is "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" written in 1797–98.

I think John Coleridge didn't recognise who the author is.
