Excellent movie! One of the finest I've seen. I watched it from 1am - 3am and was late for work because if it. Lol.
I appreciate how it had a very good black family taking in a white girl before blacks had civil rights.

I missed a bit near the end before Jo Ann and the soldier went away .
What happened in between Jo Ann meeting the soldier , Paul , and where Honey was telling them to leave and giving her the books. I assume Paul was beaten up by the father.

if u mean jo ann meeting paul for the second time, what happened after that was jo ann's uncle stabbing paul in the shoulder because jo ann wouldnt let her uncle steal paul's money.the dad had already gone to new york with jo ann's mum by that time. jo ann took paul to honey's so she could mend the stab wound.

I was flipping channels though to Dr Phil then Oprah so I missed bits of it.
I wish I'd watched it properly though.
I was bawling at the end of it.
