I have walked where Radu and Ash walked

I love this movie and cannot watch it enough. I own this was well as the four Subspecies movies and would have to say they are my favourite vampire movies of all time. I wonder if they did really well in sales and have a good fanbase of people who are loyal to the characters as the Ricean and Lumley Vamps?

I even flew to Romania and Bucharest to find all the locations from these movies. I walked Bellu Cemetery where Zachary stayed, and was the exit from the labyrinth that Ash and Radu used. I went to the Antheneum where Sofia played in VJ and where Michelle hid in Subspecies 2. I went there to see a violin quartet and with a little charm I got a tour of the antheneum before concert. It truly is beautiful like in the movie. I also found the building that Ash uses as the casino and his lair. Bucharest is certainly a magical place, where vampires could live, and it is elegantly decayed and certainly a city of mystery.

And I enjoy the evil vampires like Radu and Ash more then Zachary and Michelle, they are just cooler and nastier, but Cassandra from VJ is certainly my favourite. I was somehow hoping to bump into the actress while I was in Bucharest in my own dream like fantasy....

"Beautiful little Goddess of the Temple; The bloodstone is not for creatures such as you!"

Did you know your quote is incorrect? Radu calls her "Pitiful" not beautiful.

My dream vacation is to tour locations from these movies. I really want to visit Radu's castle more than anything! Does anyone know where it is exactly? I haven't been able to find any info on it.

Hello Jessie

The trip to Bucharest/Transylvania wasn't really that expensive. It was AU$1600 return for airfare and EURO$692 for the 8 day Dracula tour which included airport pick-up and return, all accomodation, travel and some meals. The Anthenuem and Ash's lair are actually quite near each other - tho not as close to Bellu Cemetery (the crypt entrance to the underground lairs from Ash's House, as it's several train stations away). The owners of the hostel I stayed at were able to tell me where everything was - tho I found Ash's lair by accident. From memory if you face the front of the Anthenuem (not the courtyard side) and turn left - walk down the streets on your left and Ash's lair is on one of the sidestreets to the left. I didn't go inside tho - there was an armed guard outside and I had no idea what the place really was and my Romanian is crap.

But don't be jealous - save up and go! Australia is miles away from everything - that's why the airfare was so much - if you are American, European or English etc, it would be way cheaper!!
