Why is this one of the few TNT Hallmark productions not on DVD?

Several of TNT-Hallmark's adaptations of classic literature have already made it to DVD ("A Christmas Carol", "The Odyssey", "Merlin", "Alice in Wonderland", "Animal Farm", etc.). What's the holdup with this one?

It's hardly ever rerun, even on the Hallmark Channel, and if VHS tapes become obsolete, we won't be able to see this film.

I would love to see this on DVD also.

Try voting for it on the TNT website. I would definitely buy this on DVD.

This movie, as well as the unedited Muppet Family Christmas, and Seasons 4-5 of Taxi, are the saddest DVD absences I can think of. Yet tons of utterly crappy movies get to DVD in a day. Go figure.

Case in point: a 1989 movie called Religion Inc., later retitled A Fool And His Money. This weak comedy happens to have the film debut of Sandra Bullock in a small role, so naturally she is on the DVD box in a glamour shoot from a totally different movie, totally misleading people who see the box. The movie itself is by-the-numbers and would-be-funny.

Meanwhile, the movies I mentioned previously are short-shrifted. Muppet Family Christmas, one of the best-kept secrets in Jim Henson's oeuvre, is sold on a DVD which only has part of the show, cutting out the best jokes and musical numbers. Seasons 4-5 of Taxi, and this charming Don Quixote movie, go unreleased. The mind reels.
