Andy Serkis

I just saw that Andy Serkis is in Arabian Nights, which I have seen, but I don't remember who Kasim was in the story. Who was he?

The Kasim I remember from the Tales is Ali Baba's brother (there are probably many more Kasims), but I haven't seen this movie.

Yes, Kasim is Ali Baba's brother. I had no idea that was Andy Serkis though! Guess I'll have to watch the movie again. (An idea that doesn't bother me in the least.)

I don't think that particular movie had anything to do with 1001 Arabian Nights.

I am watching it now and Andy Serkis is indeed Kasim, Ali Babas Brother.
Kasim gets greedy after learning from his brother where the 40 thieves hide their loot. He is caught in the open sesame cave and killed by the Black Coda, the leader of the 40 thieves.
I really love this program and am surprised at the quality of this production on network television.

If you want recommendations for more marvelous television mini series I can offer two!

Gullivers Travels starring Ted Danson, a movie similar to Arabian Nights in that it has many tales of fantasy told by the main character

and

Merlin, starring Sam Neil. It is the best arthurian legend on film told from Merlins viewpoint

Both of these are in the same vein as Arabian Nights, about 3.5 to 4 hours long made for tv productions that are amazing in storytelling and impressively done.

I never realized that Andy Serkis was in Arabian Nights until recently. It's cool that he was in the mini-series.

If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now.-Loki (Marvel's Avengers)
