Question to British about Liquid Snake's voice.

Is it easy for you guys to notice a "fake" or "Stereotypical" English accent whenever you play a game?

Just checked the VA of Liquid Snake, and he's American.

Yeah I always though it was an exagerated English accent! but it could have been done by an American or a Brit it was just OTT. I knew that Kent Paul in GTA: Vice City was an English guy straight away.

That probably goes for all fake accents ... same thing goes for actors who try to pull off a southern accent ... You can always tell its fake ... an actor will always over exagerate an accent ... they are especially bad when trying to pull off a cajun accent. lol

yeah it does sound exagerrated, he does use a lot of vocal pronunciation that british people do not use, I do not know how it is in America but I for one have never met anyone who says farther instead of further. But saying that there are a few people I know who speak in the stereotypical posh English accent

It may be mid-atlantic, but I always thought he was trying to sound British haha

I'm not British, but I am very familiar with British accents, and didn't know that Liquid was supposed to be British until I read about it, and I always figured that maybe it was a particular British accent I did not know of since there are many.

At any rate, it is still very possible for the accent to be Americanized since Liquid spent so much time in the US armed forces. He also speaks seven different languages, which would involve him spending a great deal of time around vsrious cultures, and would result in throwing his accent all over the place making it pretty damn ambigious.

Anywho, I love his accent. British or not.
