Why did Keanu sign for this + The Replacements in such quick succession?

They sound like essentially the same film, to me! (just interchanging the sports)

This calls for a delicate blend of psychology and extreme violence.

actually, i think they are fairly different. but that might just be my opinion.

You'd know more than me if you've seen them!

I feel the more I tell people, the less they believe me!

According to my friend, apparently the script for The Replacements changed a lot from the original draft that Keanu signed up for; it was supposedly a much better story or something. So maybe it was sufficiently different from this. eh.

Who knows how much scripts change during production? I recorded this again, thinking it was "The Replacements", so it seems that 7 years later, I'm still confusing the two!

This is where the magic happens... and by "magic", I mean nothing.

I agree but at the same time, they're both are different. But I enjoyed both movies a lot and Keanu was great in both!

He was red hot at the time coming of the Matrix. Hollywood like to cast an actor in everything if their popularity is at an all time high. They don't care if the movie is the same and Keanu Reeves wanted to get paid.
