Dead Slave Pile

Let me start of by saying this film is an epic masterpiece. Ebert may disagree but if you consider all that went into this film and the great undertaking to put it together...the emotional impact and in this day of information overload I actually learned something new from a 40 year old film, and its probably virtually impossible to create something like this in modern times.

When it comes to disturbing shocking films reality usually wins out like actual beheading or murder videos...this film starts to blur the line your not sure what's real or if the actors are actuall slaves about to be castrated.Watching this movie one can see the long term damage done to black culture..and the ignorance and lack of compasion for those who are diffrent from whites, something that still plagues America to this day.
All in all I started to grow more concerned with the sanity of the actors primarily the black ones portraying slaves.. And then dozens of them are shown being shot killed and thrown in a dead slave pile...and you have to imagine this stuff probably really happened.. And just when you can't take it any more the movie brings your sanity back and you realize dozens of black extras weren't really slaughtered like Cecil the lion.

I've wondered if the dead pile was real or not. I'm aware of no historical pictures that depict this, I know that proves little, but you'ld think if the hunters could take a picture, they would have.
