A question for people who defend this

Would you allow your child to be in such a movie?

reply

If no harm comes to it then yes

reply

I said a child, not an "it" lol. Perhaps your definition of harm differs from mine. Would you let someone hold your baby upside down while "it" pissed all over "itself"?

I don't see why not, it sounds like good clean fun and a lot cheaper and more natural than diapers.

Sure, why not?

*HAHAHA*!!! That aside, I don't think that children should be let anywhere near this film~ but that in no way means that Addio Zio Tom doesn't hold its own, very important place in film history; I certainly learned a *LOT* from it! Trying to provoke supporters of this film with a silly argument involving kids, just makes no sense.

Let me rephrase my question. Would you let someone hold your baby girl upside down while she pisses on herself?

The answer is still yes. What is it with you and this fascination with peeing infants? I mean, they all do it and that is natural, but your fixation on the subject has me a little worried. Also, are you aware that big girls also pee?

Yes, and proudly so
Regretfully this film was always misunderstood, its satire at its most powerful essence...
That's why dark humor is not for everyone, because there is always someone with no sense of humor, and/or of place that gets pissed off

Yeah, slavery is tragic, but question this, what is the most powerful way to portray tragic events? Over melodramatic Hollywood? Or a cruel and cold satire that makes you feel sick about it? think man, think

reply

Let me rephrase my question to you as I have to others. Would you proudly say "hey, remember in Goodbye Uncle Tom when the vetrinarian was examining the babies and one was upside down pissing on herself? That was my daughter"?

Rest assured that I almost completely avoid Hollywood and my sense of humour is jet black. I can even appreciate satire on occasion though it's lost on me here.
I draw the line, however, at mistreating children for the purpose of a film. do I have a problem with depicting the mistreatment of children in a film? No, but these are two different things.

Love the guy eating from the trough with his stump while he seems to have one good hand though.

Babies pee all over themselves all the time, so what if they filmed it.

And yes I'd show my daughter, I think it be a more healthy film for her to watch than a liberal film about slavery.

reply

Yes, babies pee on themselves all the time. How often do they do it while a stranger is hanging them up side down? When my daughter was a baby i did my best to keep as much of her own waste off of her as possible. I certainly didn't position her in such a way as to insure maximum coverage.

Nobody asked if you would let your daughter see this film. The question was "would you let someone hold your peeing daughter up side down and film it?"

If you think this seems like a normal, natural occurence that someone just happened to film then I really have to wonder what goes on in your home.
