Why isn't it possible to get a copy of the original "Love in a Cold Climate" (1980)? I just bought the recent one, and it's better than nothing--but I can't believe it's not possible to retrieve the "real" one. Surely it's sitting in an archive somewhere???

I recently purchased a copy of the 1980 version of "Love in a cold climate" from rare video in Canada. It says on it that it contains all 8 episodes. It contains 4 discs.
I haven't seen it yet but I cannot understand why each of the four discs has a stated running time of app. 50 minutes, when I can read here on imdb that it should have a total running time of 420 minutes.
I'm waiting for an explanation from Rare-video, so until I have that ,maybe I shouldn't recommend anything to you.

My copy has four discs with 2 episodes on each; purchased from b2 evolution. Quality is fine but haven't watched all of it yet.
