I'm from Uk - my explanation why a Nasty!

Well there are several comments here about why this was a video nasty. I'm not sure why this was picked on as it was in the same category as Cannibal Ferox and Holocaust etc, which are certainly far tougher films. But the whole video nasty furore was such a hypocrisy anyway. Living in London, I always believed the Government became involved because it was a way of masking the real social issues that were causing unrest amongst 80's youth - high unemployment, poor prospects etc.
As soon as they got hold of the idea of 'let's blame the movies', we suffered several years of debate and campaigning, in completely the wrong direction, which must have taken pressure of discussing the real problems that were affecting the UK at that time. Of course it ended up making the movies a lot more famous than perhaps they originally would have been so that's at least a ramification. Opens your eyes though as to how we can be deceived.
