Question: when Sara's friends saw her?

Do you think they cry afterwards because she did not recognize them? Or because they could barely recognize her (were shocked at her appearance and general state)?

That does bear another good question: Would Sara have recognized them or was she that out of it? In the scene, it looked to me like Sara did recognize them.

Probably both. Sara's mind was so far gone that she probably didn't even know where she was, never mind who all the people around her were.

She probably just couldn't say much of anything. Didn't know where she was or why she was there. Just completely unaware. She may have recognized them but probably couldn't converse much.

Better question is will they use for malpractice

reply

They wont because the doctor got her signature so its "voluntary"

It made them appreciate each other and their own lives much more.

Hence the strong embrace after the "visit."
