the article says it'll be released before Christmas 2007.
Don't wanna sound pessimistic but I hope it won't be screwed up like sequels tend to be.
And most importatnly:
I hope the technique will be improved.
Whats been cool in the 80's, may look outdated in the new milleneum.
The original staff will make the new one. No CGI, just the good old (hand)drawing. In my opinion it isn't a bad thing if a sequel resembles to the original, and I got used to those figures.
And another good news: they'll make a short film about the bats after finishing the part2. Great!! :]
I saw some concept arts and visual storyboards.... And It's gonna look better. The characters are hand drawnd, but whit better, more dinamic style (hence Disney), the backgrounds are good too, and it' gon' have dinamic backgrounds too. The thing that worries me is the story. Hope they make it good. Ah, and the new enemy looks great, like Scar in Lion King.

One of my teachers is part of the films CGI staff. At least the halt of the backgrounds are cartoon shaded 3d models. And all vehicles too.
I saw some test scenes, and dont worry, it'll look great:)

Animation looks lightyears ahead of the first one. Not sure if it can capture the original's "spirit" though.
