Help finding the Complete Saga
I see I am not the only person who is looking for the second half of the Bonanno story. I also purchased the DVD and was unaware that it was incomplete. I will tell you all what I know, and maybe, collectively, we can find Part 3 and 4 of the complete Mini-Series:
I originally bought the VHS version of “Bonanno – A Godfather’s Story.” I liked it, but the storyline was hard to follow because it did not go in chronological order. All the flashbacks were confusing. It was just way too jumpy for me to follow. I eventually bought the books and it made it easier for me to understand what was going on in the movie.
A couple years later, I saw a DVD titled, “The Youngest Godfather.” On the back of the jacket, it said Part 1 and 2. The cover had the same actors from the VHS version, so I assumed it was the same movie. I then noticed the runtime was three hours, while the VHS version was just a little over two hours. I bought it and took it home to watch. I loved the movie. It was a very full, in-depth account of Bonanno’s life. And it WAS in chronological order. All the original scenes from the VHS were in the DVD. Also there were a lot of uncut scenes that were not in the VHS version. The movie ended as the young Bonanno (age 17-26) became Godfather of the Marinzano Family after he was killed. He was voted in and had just married Fanny. This is where my copy of the DVD ended - Part two of the series.
I assumed there must be a Part 3 and 4 somewhere, since the DVD I purchased only took us halfway through his life. The actor who played Bonanno (age 26-60ish) was not even in Part 1 or 2. But his name appeared on the DVD jacket. That alone tells me he was credited in the mini-series. I have been trying to find Part 3 and 4 since, but have not seen it anywhere. While shopping on Amazon.com I saw what I was looking for: The complete saga. The runtime is almost five hours. So I am assuming Part 3 and 4 are the last two hours of the entire saga. Unfortunately, Amazon says it’s out of stock for the time being. I copy and pasted the Amazon “ASIN” Number, which is: B000BU734K. I googled this number and came back with info on the movie from different websites. I am not sure what an “ASIN” number is, but I assume it must be some sort of product code.
So that’s all I know so far. I only use Amazon.com for my online movie store. But I know there are a bunch of other sites out there that sells movies. Try to copy and paste that “ASIN” number I found, to your favorite movie store website. Maybe it will be in stock on yours. I am sure SOME store has it. If somebody finds a copy and it’s a good quality, reply back and let everybody else know where they can find it.
