along with getting stabbed, the villains put a pillow over his face, implying that they shot him in the head, using the pillow to soften the gunshot sound

I didnt actually think he was going to die. They had him taped to a chair and they were going to shoot him in the head but the murderer and the guy with the camera were arguing over stupid stuff. DeNiro put up a hell of a fight while being tied to his chair, he got the gun in his hands but couldnt quite shoot them from behind his back, and the murderer pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
When he was on the ground, the murderer spit blood in his face and put a pillow over his head and either smothered him or shot him, they didnt actually show it. It showed DeNiros point of view, with the pillow slowly coming down to his face. I was shocked after that, I thought somehow he would get away but he didnt. You dont usually see DeNiro die in movies like that..
it would've been more dramtic if DeNiro died in Meet the Parents.
