The main thing I didn't like about this movie (SPOILER)

Robert De Niro's character should not have died---I think instead Edward Burns' character should have died instead. The Eddie Fleming character was too likeable and I found Edward Burns' character to be rather annoying, so he should have been killed off instead. Anyone else out there agree?

reply

I only agree with the De Niro guy dying

edward burns is not that bad, wot u got against burns, he saved the day and avenged de niro. isn't that what any de niro fan would want?

i think most other people would agree with u but to me, burns is still a good back up main character.

Damn, maybe i'm the only one that thinks this way, but i loved the movie just as it was. I absolutely love DeNiro and i think that his dying in this movie was great because it was just so shocking, you don't expect it, and that's what this film is kinda about, to expect the unexpected. I think the main thing i didn't like about this movie was Kelsey Grammer, but.. i never liked him anyway.

meep meep.

I was about to walk out of the theater when De Niro died (yes I saw it in the theather)

reply

I think it was good that he was killed. Just before it happened I looked at how much time was left in the movie and thought there was no way they would actually kill him right then.

So it had that going for it.

watch "to live and die in L.A." don't want to say more besides the fact that the movie rules and you would like it if you are caught up in this debate

I think you guys are missing one of the main themes of the movie. Eddie Fleming traded on his celebrity like getting into the phone room of the 'escort' service. But he ignored the negative aspect and this led to his demise.

reply

exactly!! his death was so meaningful wtf is that got to do with bag guys and good guys?! (someone here said Edward Burnz shouldn't die cos he's a good guy - huh? maybe because he's beautiful, but not because he's a good guy. :D ... god he's so beautiful. :D)

reply

Agree with the death

Well if it wasn't Eddy Fleming who died no one would have cared, Burns character wasn't famous so no i don't agree, i think it's stupid. Without Flemings death the story would not exist.

reply

Edward Burns was incredibly beautiful in this movie. I just watched it last night for the first time and all I could think was how I don't he's ever looked better than he does in this movie.

Do we ever in real life expect someone to die?
Isn't it (almost) always tragic when someone dies.
For this feel it was a good choice to have de Niro die.
It sets the right atmosphere and makes us understand why his colleges are so upset.

Yeah I hated that Deniro's character was killed off,but I agree with the above poster come on for him to be a cop,he sure walked in on some crazy stuff,I'd of liked it more if he only been hospitalized or something.
