Who remembers this show?

This is probably the first memories I have watching a TV show. I was super young but for some reasons it got stuck in my head and I re-watched the show recently and it brought back memories (It's actually not bad either) I have no idea were and how I saw it as a child (It is a German/Canadian production) but I used to love this as a child. I remember being extremely disappointed by the movie adaptation as it did not match what I remembered from this TV show.
