What if.....

I always wonder..."What if." and lets say, what if Bret stayed in the WWF(e). Now lets say everything went the same. HBK was gone after WM14...that means all Hart would have had to do is maybe tell Vince look, I wanna stay away from HBK, ill put over guys like Shamrock or Austin. Now lets say Hart says, ill job to HBK tonight, Series 1997, but I wanna stay AWAY from him.

Now lets say stuff went the same, with Hart letting HBK have the title and working with again Shamrock, Austin, Owen, etc. I believe Shawn got hurt at Rumble 98 facing Taker. Now lets say HBK still jobs to Austin at WM144. Now, what could have Bret done though during this time? Again, he could have been in the Rumble 1998...and lets be honest, WWF could have used Bret in the rumble in 1998. I mean who else was in the rumble that year that could have won?

The Rock just wasnt "over" yet. Shamrock? I mean they had to use Foley 3 times this night!? I mean Faarooq? Come on 98 I pretty much saw SCSA winning. If Bret was there, ATLEAST Bret would have given it a little more help. He COULD have won this rumble, I mean people could have believed he could have won! I mean Tom Zenk? Chainz? Steve Blackman? (Id say Honky but he got a good pop and he was there for that.) Also, remember in 1998, there was also even one NO SHOW, because it was made to believe someone got to Austin, so honestly, no one had to be taken out, and give Hart that number. Or if they still wanna go through that, bye Zenk. Honestly, I always hated that no show bs...it's a 30 man rumble, give us 30 or throw in an alternate!

Now at WM14 what could he have done? Well, we could have had a Mankind Vs Bret Hart, but then NAO Vs who? Well it could have been a "Mystery" tag team and LOD is their opponents. Now the battle royal you change, add in Funk with Flash Funk and put Blackman and Vega together. Now who wins the 20 man rumble, idk...ANOTHER OPTION was...

Mankind Vs Bret.

And for the battle royal...Funk and Cactus Jack enter and win the rumble, again, not like Foley couldnt do it! Again Im sure giveme time I could think of other options.

Like maybe keep all the same and maybe has a Bret Hart Vs Goldust would have been fine, with Bret winning. Now, HBK was gone after tonight. SCSA wins.

I felt WWFs issue was...no one was really over enough to face Austin except Taker. HHH-Rock were still really in the IC title scene. Foley...I knew SCSA was gonna crush him. But now Bret Hart...he could have been Vince's "Chosen one" the guy who wants to beat Austin and bring WWF back to its glory days champion. Austin is a "disrespectful champion." Austin-Hart fued, it was great, and Bret would have made a more legitimate WWF scene.

Lastly, lets be honest. WcW got handed the hottest commidity in wrestling and blew it. They never truly used Bret and the potential he had! Also, NO GOLDBERG bs injury.

Again, it's always nice to think "What ifs." Im sure others can come up with a lot better idea if BRET DID stay in the wwf, and HBK still got hurt at rumble 1998 and gone by WM14...again...Series 1997-WM14 is all Bret would have had to last through HBKs stuff.

Just a curious thing to think of! Id also love to hear others ideas IF BRET stayed in the WWF!
