What happened in the sauna?Possible spoilers

Do you recall Ray Liotta going into the sauna,and it looks like he gets shot? He isn't shot,and has the climatic confrontation with Joseph. I thought he was shot to death in the sauna.Can anyone tell me what happened to him in the sauna?

You must mean the tanning booth - not a sauna. It wasn't Ray Liotta that was shot and killed there, it was the guy who worked for him...the one who hit their car at the gas station and splashed gas on them.
