american history

does this movie have anything to do with american history?

reply

WWII is American History. This had to do with the Holocaust, a horrifying European event that took place before and during WWII. It is a part of world history and social science. The anti-semitism of the time of the time was not limited to Europe. It also existed here in the US.

We weren't exactly immune to mistreatment of Jews back then or of Eugenics, the science of creating a better human race through selective breeding which gave rise to the Holocaust.

So while no one rose to the extremes of Hitler or the Nazis here in the US, it could have. Ultimately, no the Holocaust would go in the category of European/World History, but should also be studied as a part of American History and the US involvement in WWII.

Your absolutely correct except that it should be used as a prime example of why resistance to tyranny is not only a human right, but a Fundamental AMERICAN Principle essential to this nation's creation and hopefully, continued existence.

Resist, Resist, Resist. Even to one's own death. Always resist the tyrant.

The 'holocaust' started in 1942, 3 years after World War 2 started, just for the record.

yeah - keep resisting tyranny - start with Guantanemo

reply

comparing Guantanamo, where a handful of supporters and perpetrators of the most vicious violent crimes and tyrannical views are imprisoned to the eight million totally innocent people murdered in camps by the Nazis is sick.

Where on earth does this come from? I think the Jews of Czechoslovakia and Poland would think a bit differently. Do you realize that Kristallnacht occurred in 1938. Dozens of Jews died that night and tens of thousands were incarcerated.
