Positive thing about homosexuality

Im posting this to see if anyone agress with me. I have a belief that homosexuality is beneficial to the world- it helps to control overpopulation. due to certain biological limitations, homosexual relationships don't produce children.
The world is vastly overpopulated. Gays and lesbians help to keep it from getting worse. Thoughts, anyone ?

I'm actually gay myself and I've considered this idea.

Often people use the foolish argument of saying that sex is only for procreation and only couples who can do this can get married. Does the world really need anymore children? With adoption agencies overflowing it seems absurd to believe we need to continue to populate the earth in the way the bible instructed.

The gay community could simply be nature's way of controlling the population.

I only hold this as a thought though, nothing I seriously believe in. But I do agree that the gay community is a benefit to everyone. I just hope that by the time I'm older I'll be able to get married and adopt children in a more tolerant world than we have today.

I think being gay is neither positive or negative..it has nothing to do with someone as person so I doesn't really matter.

Yes, of course. Definitely, what we need is for Sarah Palin's genetic code to be passed on to future generations, but not Stephen Fry's. That'll sure make the world a better place, right?

I think you have a point there

But i personally do not believe that not producing children is the only thing that makes worthwhile

Agree, It shouldn't be considered a bad thing at all. I've always think of it as being one of the chosen ones. Gay history clearly has such a huge impact in art, music, fashion and culture in general. There's a connection with this type of born sexuality and creativity too I think.

First of all, the world is far from overpopulated. In certain areas, population is a problem. We're nowhere near our carrying capacity though.

In most developed countries/continents (Europe, North America, China) population has stabilized or is actually decreasing.

Finally, it doesn't really make sense to claim that homosexuals are beneficial to the world. Consider that your analysis makes the claim that people who do not reproduce have a positive impact on the planet, so there's no reason to single out homosexuals. Why not praise everyone who doesn't reproduce for whatever reason?

I've thought that before. Part of me still does actually. I'm the kind of person who believes there has to be a reason for everything whether I want to or not. I don't buy the "devil's temptation" argument, so this seems logical.
