Pleasantly surprised until... *SPOILERS*

the courtroom scene. I couldnt believe what I was seeing/hearing when Jake was on the stand. I was hoping, out loud, that this was a daydream, that he wasnt actually saying what he was saying. He was acting like Donnie Darko on meds.

Really? The big "confession" was that they broke up 3 days before the murder? Had to be done under oath, on the stand?

1. Whether or not they were broken up would have no bearing on his testimony nor Diana's "presence" in the courtroom, which was the intention.

2. Of course, no defense attorney would have let Jake rattle on in that whiny voice for more than a sentence.

3. That annoying whine. And him saying something along the lines of "I dont mind 'bringing her in the courtroom as long as it's with the truth!"

no one was lying. it was no big deal, legally speaking. it wasnt an earth shattering moment for anyone but maybe Dustin, and it could have been done in private. He didnt need to break down on the stand.

That was supposed to be the climax. The part where the movie gets in tune with it's conscience

a total and complete letdown to the point where I stopped watching, pulled the movie up on Wiki and read what happens in the end because I couldnt watch anymore

and THAT was even worse.

Too bad. For about 80% of the film it was a good dark comedy that had a twist.

then it fell apart and died a slow death
