Did anyone realise they changed the actress who played Ethel Hallow? I only found out after reading the credits. Weird.

Am I sensing a sarcasm here? It's just hard to detect on the internet. Anyway, I seriously didn't. Both played the character well though.
I never noticed a change really, although I was quite a bit younger then. There must have been quite a difference though as the series included the "magical makeover" bit and didn't expepct everyone to assume it was the same person.

shareAt the beginning of season 2 it was explained that Ethel had a 'witchover' so at least the change of actress was explainable/explained. When Felicity Jones returned for WeirstSister College I just assumed it was a case of witchovers not being permanent or she just got bored of the look and went back to her old self.
shareI loved it when Hardbroom and Cackle were talking about Ethel's little sister having a hard time settling in, and Ms Cackle says something like "Well her sister has gone through quite a trasformation" I just thought that was a classic, loved the way the actress wasn't just replaced off hand with no explaination.
