This movie is like looking in a mirror

Right down to the fact I live in Iowa. No I don't talk like Flip and his friends unless it's in a joking manner, but I do listen to rap music and have glorified the lifestyle many rappers portray in their songs and music videos. I have lived in Iowa since fourth grade and the lifestyle to me seems lame just like Flip views the culture around him. Just like how Flip plays video games it's all an escape, for me it's the same. I work at a restaurant where the majority of regulars are old people who get the same damn thing every time and come the same day every week. I don't think by rapping that makes you want to be a gangster, but as the movie portrays the two have become entangled. As in the end of the movie the real problem lies in someone trying to find themselves in a place they feel they don't belong and having no clear picture ahead of them.
