i saw this flick a few years ago and as i'm watching right now as it was randomly on cinemax. this movie is america, it has been for the last 9 or so years, its every damn stupid white boy wigger. the dreams of i guess what you could call "blackness" read into that as much as you want.
this movie is what i see on every one's faces around me, this life style really plays for the masses. look agound you. its so bad that this social genocide is destorying our youth.
this movie is funny, as are all the people like this which it was made to represnt. whiteboyz indeed.
pray for your souls this crap is not a joke its real its our world. look at yourself and the world around you before you laugh. its your kids, your friends, your co-workers etc... its sad. its the decline of civilization.
Flounder as you hear the movie reel.... screening poop soaked colors above your head
I couldn't agree with you more on that. Also, don't fool yourself, this is not only an American problem. This trend is degenerating societies on a global level. Of course, this seems to be more of a social problem in America as far as numbers go.
The problem is that it is catch 22 situation. The voices speaking out against this ridiculous social behavior are that of authoritarian figures in society which of course our youth will rebel against. Yet, at the same time these same very figures (predominantly aristocrats of the "baby boomer" generation) are the same people who are behind these same businesses which markets what they call this "urban" culture to the mainstream youth.
Now, for some reason so many people in this country are scratching their heads over this. Well, to break it down it's quite simple. We have, in one voice, these people I mentioned warning to our youth that embracing this lifestyle will get you nowhere AND in another voice we have these same people behind the scenes marketing this same lifestyle by flashing these millionaire simpletons on MTV; Staring them in mainstream movies; playing the cliche music all over the radio, etc. I might mention this top 1% of rap "artists" and other marketing figures, mostly, have never contributed a single positive thing to society nor done a single thing to warrant such wealth. They are mere puppets selling this lifestyle in their clownish fashion, horrible music and disgraceful behavior which undermines and outright abuses women and promotes drug abuse, violence and various other forms of corruption. I could care less how some choose to defend it. This is the type of thing that is dragging our society down the drain. I do not wonder why we live in what is currently the fattest and dumbest country on this planet.
All 3 of you are idiots. You have no idea what's going on. SOME of the rappers out there are perpetuating a lifestyle for money, like 50 cent. But people like Tupac were telling there stories. He was a poet. Endless words to tell a true story of hardship. The kids in this movie are a joke, worse than any real person out there, but its not as common as you think. Reminds me of the poser mobile ads from tmobile. I grew up in a very poor neighborhood, and never met anyone that acted like that. Maybe crackheads, but there still more tolarable. Most whiteboys living like this, like Eminem, actually lived that life. There was a good amount of white people, just as much as any other race in my hood. I don't think there is a lot of middle class people trying to work there way down the economic ladder. It is a funny thing to mock, so its a good thing to put in movies, tv, and music.
First of all, the concept of 'acting black' is ridicules, because gangsters exist no matter what kind of skin color they have. I noticed Hollywood likes to portray ghettos that are riddled with blacks, but that is simply not the case. There are gangs from all sorts of ethnicities and while I maintain that the movie was a sort of scary vision of what rural populations think the ghetto is like, let's not forget what the ghetto ACTUALLY is like. In reality, being a hooligan is not a function of your skin color. I didn't like all that political 'authoritarian' garbage that the first poster had; the concept of the movie is simple, kids from a rural area have misconception of urban life. While the movie suggest that 'blacks' make up the 'ghetto' part of urban life, this is not entirely so and something that has become somewhat of a stereotype for years.
When I think about the message of the film however, I think we're seeing the city through the eyes of Flip, maybe that's why everything seems so surreal, but I just wanted to state the above as something that should be considered when watching this film.
Exactly. Where are these racists getting this crap from?
The guy who starred in the movie is from the ghetto in real life and is very much white. Also the point of the movie was to show that the stereotype the whites had for blacks was something they've made up and glorified in their own minds. That was the point of the black friend living in a nice area and being the complete opposite of what his white friends assumed blacks were like.
And yes this is only an american problem-we're the only country that pretends that being poor or ghetto is a black thing.
I agree I'm from the UK and grew up in St.helens which has the dubbious creddit of being the number two murder capital of England. We didn't have many 'wiggers' there, just an increadably violent culture. However, I moved to York a few years ago a very affluent and upper-middle class city and the place is over run with them! It's brilliant there are lads driving around in cars that mummy and daddy baught them talking about there "crews". I met one lad a college who called everyone n!gger! I don't think that he'd ever met a black person in his life, let alone visited a geahto. The thing that people forget is that people who live in run down areas are ussualy tring to get out, lots of lad I grew up with got into dealing or thieving because they had no other means of getting a decent amount of money. I'd love to take a few of these lads to where I grew up and see how long they thought that they where hard for.
if white kids want to dress and talk a certain way it doesn't mean they wish they were black, there just influenced by the music they listen to or whatever else. i think its stupid for people to think that only black people can enjoy hip hop music. if a black dude wants to wear a suit ad tie and read books (or whatever white people do/wear) does that mean he wishes he was white?
Lmao. You idiots talk like every white kid who listens to hip hop does this. Thank god for backpacking. This is kind of inspiring though. I am going to go on and write a movie myself. It'll be called *beep* and the plot outline will be what its like for an everyday *beep* on the streets of New York and how he degrades society by selling cocaine and busting his gat. And the tagline will be 'Blame *beep* For Societies Problems'. Wonder why prisons in America are filled with *beep* Watch my movie and you'll find out.
note: not an angry or nagging tone, just regular conversational tone.
It is not so much hip-hop that is the problem, it is what is being put out in the name of hip-hop. a lot of the quality stuff never makes it mainstream because many of the music companies do not find it marketable to the targeted market.
I am not making a generalization of all males, I am just speaking about the group that fails into this targeted market/ look at it realistically. \
What kind of music, movies, video games, etc are more appealing to young males black, white, Chinese, Martian... whatever? It certainly isn't brittney spears, the sisterhood of the traveling pants, Barbie’s fashion show the PC edition. It is shoot 'em up action, thrillers, rap, nu-metal, whatever i'm not going to give a laundry list because i know will figure out where i am going.
if it isn't snoop, dre, 50, the game, jim jones (see there i go with the lists), WHOEVER, it would be something else. Every generation has some fad, craze, whatever that is thought to be "ruining" our youth. In another 25 30 years, we'll probably see all of them doing some sort of PBS oldies revival.
I personally don't care if white people listen to hip-hop and copy the style as long as they realize that it is only one aspect of black culture. hell I am not particularly a fan of the newer aspects hip-hop that comes of materialistic, womanizing, and pompous and I am African American. My preferences aren’t limited to one style of music.
Lol, I can agree with you Bez. I was born and raised in Flint Michigan, which is a very diversed community, so I grew up accepting all races. I recently moved out into a suburb and there are tons of kids running around acting like there gangsters, but kids here say they're acting black. I wear urban clothing and have some what of an urban flow with my voice and people say that I am acting black and that I think i'm a gangster. I tell them how I think gangsters and drug dealers are trash and all, but they think i'm "acting". There's this one kid in my school named Matt, and he calls all of his friends "Ni gga" but whenever a black kid talks to him, Matt acts as if he doesn't know what urban is. I really hate people who judge by how people dress, but in this case, this kid is the definition of Wigger.
For some reason people think this is something new...
What about generations before us when everyone wanted to be a rock n roll musician and shoot heroin, or before that being a hippy doing lsd, or before that even wanting to be like elvis?
Music is a huge influence in people, and one look at my family could prove that. I have 5 brothers and 1 sister. My oldest brother is into old school rock, the one younger then him is into the 80's stuff, the one younger then him is into 90's rock/alternative stuff, i'm into hip hop mainly the 90's and some newer stuff, while my younger brother is into the new rap, and my sister is into the new rnb stuff...
Thats a perfect example of musics influence, and believe that everyone in my family dresses according to their genre...
The only difference however is we are from NY, not far from the real "ghetto's". So out here everything is accepted, out in *beep* hillbilly states however its not accepted at all. I've been in North Carolina, and I've been called a *beep* and I'm white...
I love hip hop, I enjoyed this movie, nowadays though the stuff on tv is pretty toxic, nothing like the mid 90's hip hop when people had originality and weren't just making music to sell records, they sold records because they made good music...
Sadly I know there are people like Flip out there, not really sure how people put on such a facade and look in the mirror.
For the growth of humanity, in a passive or active way, we need to love each others.
There's no reason to hate each other except of our history The color skin is no reason to hate each other even if some of us does. They are unevolved weaklings. I know a lot of them. Some are white and Some are black.
