Were Fanny + Edmund cousins?

Never read the book, just saw the last hour and a half of the movie today. Was confused, are Fanny and Edmund cousins, first cousins????

Yes. Their mothers are sisters. Lady Bertram made an advantageous marriage, so was rich and lived at Mansfield Park. Mrs. Price was not so lucky, and lived with a poor, idle husband and lots of kids in Portsmouth.
It wasn't that uncommon in those days for first cousins to marry, and it is actually still legal in some states in the US.
