NEED THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!! NOW! I'll die with out it.

Okay, you guys have to help me out with this because if I don't get an answer, my faith in the internet and the plethora of info it's supposed to be have will be destroyed. There is a song that was sung in the promos for Time of Your Life, where Jennifer Love Hewitt was on a train and there was this song in the background that went, "...get ready for the time of your life" or something to that effect. The phrase "time of your life" was definitely in it and it sounded so hot and I've been searching for this song forever. I had the promo on the VHS version of never been kissed but have since given it up and it's just driving me crazy. Please help me!!!!!!!

Well there's the obvious "I've Just Seen a Face" sung by the BoDeans, the very same band that sang the theme song for Party of Five. A cover version of The Beatles track of old. They used it in the opening credits for TOYL and some of the commercials.

The track you are probably referring to is "She's So High" by Tal Bachman. They used this tune for almost all the early promotional commercials for the series. The promotional teaser "Get ready for the Time of Your Life" was the television announcer's voice-over, it's not in the song itself. The song you heard on the promotional vid should be Tal Bachman's tune.

Here is his video for the track

No that's not it. I own all of Tal Bachman's stuff. He was quintessential for me in the closing of the nineties. So it's not "She's So High". And it's not the Beatles' cover either. The song really did say "get ready for time of your life." Ugh! Why doesn't anyone remeber this? LOL.

I own the series, watched the series several times throughout the years, have several different commercials for the series. They used Bachman's "She's So High" umpteen times. They also used one other song sung by Beth Orton in the original unaired pilot entitled "Central Reservation", here that is.

"Central Reservation" has no such line in the lyrics and I know for a fact that they certainly used your quote in many of the commercials for the series... as a voice-over. Maybe you had a local Fox affiliate create their own promotional commercial for your city.

That's all the info I got.

Hopefully by now you've figured it out but if you do see this and are still looking could you be thinking of Green Day's time of your life?

Sorry but Green Day is not correct, it's not figured out as yet. Fox never used Green Day's tune, lots of people have made that guess since the title is perfect for the series. Many people thought Green Day's song was also the theme song! Nope. Also notice that Green Day's lyrics never state "get ready for the time of your life". I suppose some local Fox affiliate could have created their own commercial and used Green Day but I honestly doubt that. The song was rather recent at the time and would have cost a pretty penny for copyright release.

Boston's "Party" includes the lyrics "get ready for the time of your life" but it is in no way recent.

UPDATE:

Okay I still haven't found it, but I will. I'm aware of the promos and the voice overs but this really was in there. I swear. It had an Edwin McCain feel to it, but I don't think it was him. If I could just get my hands on a copy of never been kissed with the original trailer!

The same thing with another two movies (well one is a documentary) that I like. Jars Of Clay did a song and the lyrics in it were "what you never had before". It was in the promo of some movie and I was like I need that song, but everyone swore up and down it wasn't in there. And I said, it is! And it took me like two weeks, but I found it.

And then the other song I'm searching for right now is from the documentary "Shut Up & Sing" Emily Robison is playing the banjo and Nat's voice is singing faintly in the background as Martie talks about how Em chose the banjo! The song is beautiful and I really want it so, of course, I can't find it.

Why do I always like the stuff not easily obtainable? lol.

I think I found it for you!

Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers. Go to their website and click music and then go to the link to preview/purchase and you can listen to some of it. However, it is nothing like Edwin McCain, so these guys may only be redoing it.

Hope that's it!

Pretty sure I know the song you are talking about...I know that it sounds like "Time of Your Life" but I think its "Ride of Your Life"...I was a huge Party of Five Fan back in the day so naturally when a show came on about Sarah I tuned in and watched the promos too...

The song that I had a lot of trouble finding was this one..."Ride of Your Life" by John Gregory!

Hopefully this is the one you were thinking about because I know it was used in the promos for the show when it was coming back from Hiatus and trying to gain more viewers.
