Comparing the E Taylor version and this one, Marc Antony's army did not desert him when fighting the final battle against Octavian. Rufio did not commit suicide when he had to choose between Antony and Octavian. And in this version, did Antony die from his battle wounds instead of commiting suicide when he thought Cleopatra dead?

Both films stray from the History way to much.

My first objection is simply Portraying Cleopatra as some Feminist Icon, but that's mainly a Matter of Opinion.

They both Leave out Ptolemy XIV, this was at least acknowledges Arsinoe but they get the facts about her all wrong, she wasn't killed till 41 BC.

They also leave out the Significance of Herod and The Jews during all this.

And both makes things seem like they happened over a shorter period of time then they really did.
