New to Big Train

Ok, when Shaun of the Dead came out, I fell in love with it. After watching that, I heard about Spaced, and bought it on DVD. I loved that too, and can't stop watching it. Now, I've heard about Big Train and was wondering if it's worth buying just because I liked the other two. Would you say it was worth getting it without having seen it first, or waiting (possibly for a very long time) to see it free before getting it? Thanks.

Yes! I bought it with an air of skepticism but it has changed my life for the better! Except my revision time-table. Withdraw £20 todays and enjoy.

I watched them the other way round. First Big Train when it was on telly. Then Spaced when it came out on DVD, and then Shaun at the cinema. If you're a Simon Pegg fan (which I am) then you will see a natural progression in the characters. But as you're watching them in the wrong order don't expect too much from Big Train on your first viewing. I can't get enough of it and once you know the sketches you'll be quoting them forever. Enjoy!

Hm, I've been wondering about the exact same thing

You can't go wrong with Big train. You have three of the best character comedians in one show and the writers of Father ted. I still can't see a down side but if you hate the sight of blood just don't watch the dvd extra's on disc one, I still can't watch it without squeeling like a pig!

there are tons of really funny sketches in the first series, that are especially funny when you first see it, but the second series is terrible, probably cos it has different writers. but there are a couple of decent sketches, particularly the rostrum cameraman
