Truck Driver

I have a question on the truck driver who gives a ride to the protagonist and the girl. Was he a good guy or a bad guy? When the protagonist comes and hits him to stop him from molesting(??) the girl, he winks. So, it seems as if he was, in fact, just testing whether the guy likes the girl or not. But, also if the guy would not have come to her rescue, who knows he might have proceeded with what he was doing..
Your opinions??

He was a goody guy. He hjust wanted to make her happy and have Daniel fight for her.

You had better decide whether you're hangin' on the cross... or bangin' in the nails.

When the credits roll, you see the trucker again and he is smiling friendly in an extended shot (not just a small wink. Also, remember how all the other guys in the pub, which were his friends, tried to stop him and he told them to shut up "because I know what I am doing"?

reply

Like the others have said he was a good guy. And the chances of Daniel coming into the bar to rescue July is 100% because this is a movie after all.

reply

Besides the wink, he didn't get up after Daniel sent him against the jukebox, and later Juli can only laugh when talking about it, she's not angry at all.

"That was a courtesy flush. I'm not actually done yet"

reply

That trucker was the coolest guy ever! He did that on purpose, to both fulfill July's wish for him standing for her, and to force him to care for her.
