DVD coming to the US?

I saw this movie at the Seattle International Film Festival this year and LOVED it. I'm still waiting for it to come out on DVD here. Does anyone know when or if this is going to happen? If not, does anyone have a clue as to how to obtain a DVD player that will play European DVDs? There are so many incredible ones around the world that we can never view on this side of the sea.

I believe you can now buy U.S. versions of the DVD on Amazon.com. Also, if you buy a european DVD, AV studios will transfer it from the european (a.k.a. "PALS") format to the U.S. format for any where from $5.00-$25.00 depending on the area you're in.

Cheers!

That's interesting. Every DVD player I know of does this by default. I can play NTSC DVDs on my standard DVD Player as well as PAL DVDs.
And there's a lot of DVD player software for Your PC that does the same thing.
The only problem might be Your TV set. My PAL TV set is very old, but still it plays NTSC.

We just got it in for rent at my Blockbuster (In Florida). If we have it, other Blockbuster's should too. It came out the 8th of June.

Has anyone seen the US vesion of this yet?
Is it an english dubbed version or is it original (German etc.)?

And if it is original, does the DVD have the option for english subtitles?

reply

It's in German with the option of English subtitles. I don't recall if there were options for any other language subtitles, but definitley English.
